Patrick Keil is Senior Principal Scientist for Corrosion Protection at the Coatings division of BASF. Patrick is a member several scientific societies, consulting committees of research organizations, member of the board of the German Society of Corrosion Protection (GfKORR) since 2016 and European Federation of Corrosion since 2020. In 2021 Patrick has been appointed Honorary Professor of RMIT University. His current research is in the area of coatings, metal pre-treatment, applied electrochemistry and corrosion, with the focus on the development of new protection technologies, understanding the relationship between corrosion and resulting material performance and the development of methodologies to assess corrosion.
