Dr Dias is a Senior Lecturer within the Discipline of Laboratory Medicine, School of Health and Biomedical Sciences, STEM College, RMIT University. He has over 15 years of experience in metabolomics, natural products, and analytical biochemistry. Dr Dias’ current and collaborative research focuses on producing indigo in heterologous model systems; identifying bioactive natural products from endophytes; using metabolomics to assess the impact of Polyphenol Rich Sugarcane Extracts (PRSE) on inflammatory cell signalling pathways; identifying anti-diabetic natural products from evidence-based medicinal plants; determining the impact of a Mediterranean Diet and how it effects the gut microbiome and genetics; determining the effects of a Mediterranean Diet with or without time restricted feeding in Type 2 Diabetes and the supplementation of PRSEs to assess aging and memory loss in a model system.
