Dr. Jordi Pijuan

Dr Jordi Pijuan is PhD by Universitat de Lleida (UdL) and Industrial Engineer by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He is currently researcher in the Ceramic and Metallic Materials unit at EURECAT, and also holds a part-time adjunct lecturer position in the mechanical engineering department at Universitat de Lleida. He is author and co-author on 7 publications on SCI journals and multiple contributions in conferences and R&D projects. During doctorate period his research had been focused on the dynamic performance of adaptive suspension systems for vehicles and the design and implementation of test devices for research and development in agricultural and industrial machinery. Since 2016 is currently developing his research in EURECAT. He is focused on the research and development of new powder manufacturing technologies by atomization. His main contribution is to enhance the capabilities of centrifugal atomization and the understanding of this technology. He is focused on the development of new metal powders for powder metallurgy, thermal spraying coatings or metal additive manufacturing sectors, and also in the development of advanced metal powders such as metallic glasses.
